Even Your Website Needs a Checkup
04/26/12 Filed in: web development | search engine optimization
Websites, just like people, need a yearly checkup. Not because they're necessarily sick, but because they may contain content that's not up-to-date. Think about it, when was the last time you actually went through your website page-by-page and really took the time to see if there's information that needs changing, for instance:

New Website Launch: Worldwide Modular
Whippet Creative is excited to introduce a newly developed website for Worldwide Modular. Gary Goldman, CEO, developed a revolutionary new way to build affordable site-ready housing that's both hurricane and earthquake resistant. The concept is actually based on a simple and elegant principle: a wine rack! By first building an exoskeleton (the wine rack), finished pre-fabricated units are slid into place (the wine bottle) to complete the structure. The process is extremely efficient and has no height limitations. And on top of that, the pre-fab living units fit into a standard sized cargo container which can be easily shipped worldwide.

My New Year's Resolution: Eat Better... and Feature New Websites
Here we go again. It's the start of a New Year and I'm thinking of how I can be a better person: healthier, more efficient, better looking (probably already too late for that!).
But to heck with all of that...what I really want to do is tell everyone about a new website Whippet Creative just launched for Evergreen Advanced Body Work! The new site supports Lorrie Garcia's passion for providing therapeutic massage, including Myofacial Release, for anyone needing relief from pain, or those who just want to feel better.

Who shows up at your Social Media party?
09/01/11 Filed in: social media | web development
Social Media is like sending out invitations to a party. You or your business post "invitations" for the world to see on Facebook and Twitter asking people to join the conversation, yet no one shows up. Why?
Think of it this way. When you go to someone's party, what do you usually talk about? Most of us talk about pleasantries, work, sports, or just about anything that's interesting and the conversation develops naturally. Conversations are rarely if ever forced. And when attending a party, you never show up and start "selling" your company's products or services. If you did, chances are you won't be invited back to attend another party anytime soon. That goes for other folks at the party who witness your rude behavior. Fetch More...

Pizza has a shelf life, and so does your Website
08/22/11 Filed in: website design | search engine optimization
One of the questions Whippet Creative is asked most often is: "how often should I redesign my website"? Although there is no one hard and fast rule, the best answer often is: "when it becomes stale and out of date".
As tempting as the cold pizza left in your fridge is to eat, after a certain period of time the crust gets hard, the pepperonis turn color, and the cheese starts to smell like an old gym shoe. This is a good analogy for a website. When new, your site is hot, juicy, and made up of the freshest content and programming available. But as time passes it can become stale, lose effectiveness and become unappetizing to visitors. Fetch More...
